Santorini
Santorini: An Island based on fire!
Despite how many years pass, what sunsets come and leave Santorini was and remains a very beloved island. Those who loved Santorini, loved it forever. It is because of the soil, the colors, the differences from place to place, the fact that combines romance and unbridled fun? I believe that has the charm of the risk of the threat hovering in the air. And of course I do not mean other than the volcano...
In that also owes its existence. This geological phenomenon created in the middle of the Aegean Sea a place of incredible beauty. The volcano along with the undersea volcano Koloumbo, Nisyros, Milos and Methana, active volcanoes in the Aegean. Start the activity by 2.5 million years and continues today. It could be said to be the first volcano that gave life to a place instead of annihilate it under the hot lava.
Fira
The most proud and most peculiar capital that has ever had an island because it is built atop cliffs. However, the view when reaching the port is one of the first highlights which visitors admire. 566 is the number of stairs if you decide to climb to get to Fira! But do not worry! There are always local taxis to get you to tour destination! Narrow streets adorned with arches, commercial shops and microenterprises with the traditional air of the mountains form the country literally beating motion. Stroll, eat roughly at the square, hang around the streets, see traditional houses of the island (captainhouses) and admire the tranquility of the “kaldera”.
By this way you will have the opportunity to see some of the most important attractions such as the Cultural Center where cultural events take place, the Church and the Archaeological Museum with finds from the prehistoric era.
Great interest to tourists is causing the old wreck. Enough to hold your breath (!) just enter to the submarine "Atlantis Santorini 1" from where you see all the flora and fauna of the seabed. Is there better way to feel the summer?
A lovely journey to Fira is best to do it... by donkey across the old harbor and by boat to the volcano. Pay a visit to neighboring Thirassia with only 250 residents!
