Tinos
Tinos: The “special” Cycladic island
The first connotation that we do when we talk about Tinos is the famous Virgin Mary of Tinos, the miraculous, according to the Christian tradition, icon that attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. But Tinos is not only that. The sacred island of Virgin Mary is a special place with authentic traditional character without the touristic and cosmopolitan showcase that features other islands. “The island of the artists” many people qualify as long as it has a long tradition in folk art, which is reflected in a special way to the aesthetics of the island. Picturesque villages, chapels, monasteries, museums, windmills and beaches with gold sand which retain their pristine natural beauty, are some of the features of this unknown "diamond" of the Cyclades.
