Dodekanisa are found in the south-eastern department of the beautiful Aegean. The main islands are 14 from which the most known are Astypalea, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kastelorizo, Kos, Lipsi, Leros, Nisyros, Patmos, Rhodes, Simi, Tilos and Chalki, while there are also a lot of small islets. Apart from Rhodes and Kos that are in big tourist growth, the rest of Dodekanisa are still tied up with the tradition, away of the modern way of life.

Rhodes is the most cosmopolitan island with intense marks of Venetian domination in a very big part of architecture of its buildings and art that was created there. In the island you will find luxurious hotels, studios, rooms of renting and, generally speaking all kinds eac lodging for every liking and for each pocket! Furthermore, it constitutes the second more popular destination for the summer holidays in Greece. In the mornings you can visit a lot of sightseeing and museums that will turn you back in the Season of Knights, while in the evening the island gets the wind up in the night clubs until the first morning hours.

Kos will impress you with the settlements of white houses with the colorful flowers as well as with its crystal waters of the sea. The ancient Greeks named It “Makaron island” and, truly, whoever visits it feels an intense sense of euphoria under the hot touch of the sun and the cosmopolitan atmosphere that fits so harmoniously with the magic of historical monuments. Its crowed beaches but also the remote bights will make you completely satisfied.

Karpathos is the island of oppositions that will not make you feel bored not even for a moment. Tall mountains but also deep caves, dense vegetation and running waters, you can find everything in Karpathos. Just walk in the graphic settlements and you will enjoy the splendid flavors that you will find in the small taverns, you will “travel” with the sounds of music in the evening bars and a wave of relaxation will carry you away.

Patmos is a religious centre of world interest thanks to the Cavern of Revelation and the Abbey of Patmos but, of course, constitutes also a destination of holidays, different from the one that most islands of Dodekanisa offer, as its tourist growth is very mild without however deprives in its travelers the comforts that seek in their holiday.

The bigger part of Leros is covered by plains with dense vegetation that they reach that reaches almost up to the sea. He is not accidental consequently that Leros took her name from the ancient Greek word Leros that it means level, flat. Leros will make your thoughts more beautiful, with its green shores and the graphic small harbors.

The distance between the islands is quite little and there is frequent marine transport for going from one another. As a result it is easy enough to visit more than one island and this is a way to acquire a complete picture of Dodekanisa. If you do not want to change lodging all the time, you can have one of the big islands as a basis and explore smallest. Moreover, there are many daily excursions that are organised for this reason. The local tourist agents have all the details with regard to excursions in this islets but also with regard to tickets for the boats that go there. Also, a good idea for those who allocate a yacht or a small ship is to turn around in the smaller islands that are full of wild beauty, it is sure that they will fascinate you.
