ISLAND

Anyone could say that the Ionian Sea is a travel in the myth. Blue-green waters, golden sandy beaches and natural beauties that travel you. The people from Ionian always smile and they are very hospitable. There are many historical monuments and parts that from the antiquity up to today distinguish for their fairy beauties, their civilization and culture.

The Ionian islands or Eptanisa are positioned in the western side of Greece and they are constituted in total by 12 small and big islands that each one distinguishes for its physiognomy.

They had known many conquerors and were influenced by their culture. Eptanisa are constituted by Zakinthos, Corfu, Lefkada, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Kithera, Paxous and Antipaxous.

Zakinthos, the homeland of Dionysios Solomos, distinguishes for the history and its special beauty. Crystal waters and huge rocks, as well as caves with stalactites create a magician landscape. Zakinthos is ideal for all kinds of holiday, this green island of poetry or as it is called “the Fiore of the levanter, enchants each visitor. In the gulf of Lagana you may meet the marine turtle karetta-karetta where it dugs its eggs under the hot sand, but also the seal smonks.

Corfu, the sovereign of Ionian has an atmosphere from Venice and its charm has pulled interest from all over the world. The splendid island, that hosted Odysseus leading him back to his love, is famous particularly for its tourism. The green plants that you meet around in a combination with the light blue sea create a land paradise. Corfu has a lot of historical sightseeing and of course the well-known Pontikonisi, while it is true that you can visit it in every season.

Kefalonia with the noble Argostoli and the small Paris, Lixouri, will fascinate you. The nature has been exceptionally generous towards to the island, in which you will meet splendid beaches with incredible waters, marine caverns where you can go with dinghy and generally you will see impressive landscapes all around the island. Traditional hamlets and graphic harbors offer you endless walks and unforgettable holidays, while the green will offer you the appropriate dew for the summertime.

Lefkada is the unique island that has road access. The island got big fame thanks to Aristotle Onasis as in a small distance you can meet “Scorpion” in which at about 50 years ago many of the biggest personalities worldwide were entertained. Lefkada is a magic island that will dominate you at the first glance, it has had a wild beauty that carries away each visitor, white beaches, graphic villages scrambled on the mountainsides in order to make you walk and eat house specials, all these things will give in your holidays a special color.

Kithera is “the island of sweet secrets and feasts of heart” as Bodlair says. Venetian castles, golden sandy beaches, astonishing sunsets, romantic walks in the desserted beaches… Kithera is another place of dreams. It is the most isolated island from the cluster of Ionian and claims the title of the homeland of goddess Venus.

Ithaca is one of the small islands of Ionian and is dear in all over the world. It is the homeland of Odysseus, the hero of the Troian war. It is a mountainous island with characteristic alternation of landscapes which offers in the visitors a unique destination for holidays. It has the fame of the quiet island and it is full of astonishing parts that wake up memories of the past that travel you. It is worthwhile to visit it also for Easter, when the nature “has woken up” you will be enchanted by the smells of the island and you will participate in the customs that are hold these days.
