Lefkada
Lefkada, an island with unique charm.Lefkada has beautiful white beaches and azure waters. The island’s villages are mountainous and most of them retain their traditions and they are picturesque. The small islands give special charm to Lefkada and they are decorated with greenery and situated between land and sea. Beaches: A combination of white sand and deep blue sea
The island has beaches that suit all tourists. Guests can visit the sandy beaches with the wild beauty and have the most relaxing family vacation. The only thing that is sure is that no visitor will feel bored.
The visitors can swim in the city, to the public beach Gyra. The road goes round of Gyra and ends in a white band of sand that goes into the sea. In the southern city of Lefkada, tourists can enjoy the crystal waters of the beach Agios Ioannis. It has white sand, cool waters that come from mountain sources leading to the sea, and along with the picturesque church of Agios Ioannis Antzousi, which is under the pine trees, creates a beautiful picture.
On the beach of the village Agios Nikitas, the famous beach Kathisma is one of the largest in Lefkada and attracts many visitors who want to spend nice and relaxing moments under the hot sun.

Villages in Lefkada
The island consists of several settlements, each of them offer a different experience. The best known are the following.
Vasiliki: The picturesque village of Lefkada with great tourist development due to the amazing combination of green and its spreader beach. The village provides all facilities for comfortable and relaxing holiday. The beach of the settlement is considered ideal for wind sefing. It is located 38km from Lefkada and has 400 residents.
Ligia: This is a major fishing center on the east side of Lefkada. In recent years the village has more tousrists. It is 6 km away from Lefkada.
Nikiana: It is a seaside village that evolved into a tourist resort. Located just 10 km from Lefkada, it is built in a green landscape with breathtaking view of the mountains of Etoloakarnania.
Nidri: On the east side of Lefkada is the known Nidri, one of the largest and oldest resorts on the island. This settlement has a very lush landscape, it is clean, hospitable and tourists have the view of the unique group of islands.
Agios Nikitas: This village is traditional and has been designated a landmark. From St. Nikita, the guests can enjoy the sunset. The village lies on the edge of a forest with old olive trees where no cars are allowed. It is located 12 km away from Lefkada.

In the city of Lefkada there are many restaurants and taverns with fresh fish and many other delicacies. As for the tourist’s nightlife to the island, there are bars and nightclubs with music for all tastes. An important event is the''Festival of Literature and Art’’ which is dedicated to leading men of letters and takes place every year in early August. The festival includes lectures, concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibitions, dances and songs that will entertain any visitor.
